Fourth of July Events Fill Bonner County Calendar With Live Music, Parades, and Community Celebrations

Bonner County residents and visitors have a full slate of activities ahead as Independence Day celebrations kick off Friday, July 3, with performances and meals throughout the region.

The Tony Award-winning musical “1776: The Musical” takes the stage at Panida Theater in Sandpoint at 7 p.m., offering a professional production from Honey Pearl Production. Live music venues across the county will feature performances throughout the evening, including Zach Simms at Pend d’Oreille Winery from 5 to 8 p.m., Bright Moments Jazz at Baxter’s from 6 to 8 p.m., and The Plastic Owls performing outdoors at Blue Heron Cafe from 6 to 9 p.m.

Additional music acts Friday include Nic Allen at Barrel 33 from 6 to 9 p.m., indie-rock band Snacks at Midnight with doors at 7 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m., and Right Front Burner at 219 Lounge from 9 p.m. to midnight. Multiple venues will host live music between 5 and 8 p.m., including Connie’s Cafe and Matchwood Brewing.

Community services continue throughout Friday. The Sandpoint Senior Center offers breakfast at 8:30 a.m., and the Idaho Department of Labor will provide mobile services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Resource EnVision Center on McGhee Road. A senior meal is available at 11:30 a.m. at the Clark Fork-Hope Area Senior Center, which also hosts duplicate bridge at 12:30 p.m. St. Joseph’s Soup Kitchen serves a free dinner from 4 to 6 p.m., and yoga for teens runs from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. at the Syringa Creek Building.

Saturday Fourth of July Celebrations Across the County

Independence Day events on Saturday span multiple communities, with the Sandpoint Lions Club hosting its 73-year tradition of Fourth of July festivities at City Beach, beginning with a kids parade at 9:30 a.m. and the grand parade at 10 a.m., both near Fifth and Church. The Lions carnival runs all day at Sandpoint City Beach.

The Sandpoint Farmers Market operates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Farmin Park.

Clark Fork’s Fourth of July celebration starts early with a Freedom Fun Run at 7 a.m. and a VFW flag-raising ceremony at 8:30 a.m., followed by the town parade at 9:30 a.m. Activities at Clark Fork High School grounds begin at 10:15 a.m., with an airplane drop, turtle races, and logging competitions scheduled for noon at Memorial Field. Fireworks will conclude the day at dusk.

Priest River’s Fourth of July Family Fun Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. downtown, hosted by Priest River Youth Connections and the Odd Fellows.

Music and Food Throughout Saturday

Live music performances continue Saturday across the county. The Flinns will perform country music from 12 to 2 p.m. at Smokesmith Bar-B-Que, while Bare ‘n’ Blue funky electric blues takes the stage at 5:30 p.m. at the same venue. Monarch Mountain Band performs at Barrel 33 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A pre-Fourth of July celebration combining dinner, concert, and a veterans fundraiser will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Little Panida Theater. The event includes catering by Ivano’s and features Cinema Soul performance by JoDavi. Spool Effect is scheduled to take the stage at Bonners Ferry Brewery for the area’s Fourth of July celebration.
