Four private gardens across Sagle and Sandpoint will open to the public this month as part of the second annual Progressive Garden Tour, an event designed to showcase the region’s horticultural diversity and connect gardeners with local growing techniques.
The tour takes place Saturday, July 25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will travel by coach between garden locations, where hosts will share cultivation methods and gardening insights. Light refreshments will be served throughout the morning, and the event concludes with a waterfront lunch.
Pine Street Farm to Table is organizing the garden tour as part of its broader effort to celebrate local agriculture and sustainable food practices in Bonner County. The event draws on growing community interest in home gardening, particularly as residents seek to expand their own food production and learn from neighbors who have successfully developed productive landscapes.
Advance Registration Encouraged
Tour tickets are available through Eventbrite.com, and organizers are encouraging advance registration due to limited capacity. Those interested can also call 208-255-9325 for additional details.
The garden tour is one of two events Pine Street Farm to Table is hosting this month. On July 18, the organization will host a Farm-to-Table Dinner at its homestead, featuring a Mediterranean-inspired menu prepared by chef Enas Blanchard. Wine pairings will accompany the dinner courses. Tickets for that event are also available through Eventbrite.
Local Agriculture Growing
The expansion of farm-to-table dining and educational events reflects broader interest across North Idaho in local food systems and agricultural practices. Similar community events have gained traction throughout Bonner County, from farmers markets to educational workshops on home food preservation and gardening sustainability.
For those planning to attend the July 25 garden tour, organizers recommend arriving early to allow time for check-in before departure. The coach format allows participants to move easily between locations without personal vehicle use, making the event accessible to gardeners of all mobility levels.
More information about both events can be found on Eventbrite or by contacting Pine Street Farm to Table directly at the number listed above.
