Early in-person voting for the November 3 general election is set to begin across Idaho, with start dates varying by jurisdiction. State law grants individual counties the authority to determine whether they offer early voting and when those polls open.
Twin Falls and Bannock counties will be among the first to open their doors, beginning early voting on Tuesday. Voters in Ada, Bonneville, Canyon, and Kootenai counties must wait until October 19 to cast ballots in person before Election Day.
The early voting period for all participating counties concludes at 5 p.m. on October 30. This window provides residents with several days to vote ahead of the general election, potentially reducing lines on November 3.
For those preferring to vote by mail, the deadline to request an absentee ballot is the end of the day on October 23. Idaho has 44 counties in total, and not all offer early in-person voting. Some jurisdictions that do not provide early voting still allow for in-person absentee voting, giving residents options depending on their local election office’s policies.
