Swedish Nordic Folk Artist Sofia Talvik Brings Solo Tour to Sandpoint’s Panida Theater
Swedish singer-songwriter Sofia Talvik is set to perform at Sandpoint’s historic Panida Theater on Sunday, May 17, with doors and show time beginning at 6 p.m. The performance at 300 N. First Ave. is part of her 2026 U.S. tour, titled Songs, Strings & Stories.
Talvik has built an international reputation for weaving together Nordic folk influences with Americana sounds, delivering what fans of artists like Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, and Emmylou Harris will likely find familiar. The Swedish artist has performed across all but one U.S. state and has released 10 full-length albums, establishing herself as a well-traveled and prolific songwriter.
The current tour is a solo production, placing Talvik’s vocals and guitar work at the forefront without a backing band. Attendees can expect selections drawn from across her catalog alongside newer material from this year’s touring cycle.
Talvik commented on the timing of the performance, noting that music can provide “a moment of stillness” during challenging times, and expressing enthusiasm for performing inside the storied Panida venue.
The Panida Theater has long served as a cultural anchor for the Sandpoint community, hosting regional and touring artists throughout the year. For North Idaho residents looking for live entertainment this spring, the show offers a rare opportunity to experience an internationally touring performer in an intimate setting. More community events around Sandpoint this month include family-friendly biking events brought to the area by the Lake Pend Oreille School District.
Tickets and additional information are available through the Panida Theater. For broader coverage of community and cultural happenings across North Idaho, visit Idaho News.
